What an amazing church this must be to photograph a wedding in! Its actually in my hometown. I went to visit it now on my last trip home for the first time since I think I left school (which to me feels like it only happened the day before yesterday but of course we all know this is not quite true…).
My school used to host concerts here and I sang in the choir. I loved the performances, although, growing up around amazingly old buildings like these I just took it for granted. Today I appreciate how special it is.
I found all this amazing detail almost overwhelming and my camera had no idea where to focus on first… Earth to Nathalie: This church is massive and the acoustics are amazing – I could hear myself breath – can you imagine how loud my shutter sounded in this big space. It was really intimidating. I have huge respect for holy spaces like this. My camera wanted to go all over and really close up and upstairs, downstairs… I managed to reign it in and stay respectful towards this space. It was really hard though.
I can’t wait for the day when I will have the opportunity to shoot a wedding ceremony in a church (or does this classify as a cathedral already?) like this!
