I photographed these special people together with Christiaan David at Avianto last weekend. Apart from the fact that Avianto was beautiful, the decor was lovely and the bride looked stunning… the bride and groom make for an amazing couple. The beginning of their love story probably sounds rather ordinary: they met, fell in love and were happily dating… and then 4 years ago, Darren was involved in a disabling attack which, against many odds, he survived. The bond between Lauren and Darren has strengthened enormously during that time – they are such a blessing for each other. It was marvelous to be a witness of their love for each other!
I love the expression in his face… he looks so very happy!
A bunch of crazy boys, yes, they certainly know how to celebrate! But it was very obvious what a tight friendship there was between all of them and how much they cherished the friendship with Darren. They delivered extremely moving, honest and uplifting speeches which made everyone in the room having to grab their tissues (and me having to go and hide behind a wall to catch my breath…)… it was a particularly special day for everyone!
I thought this was a rather unusual and exquisite choice of a bouquet – very fitting with this exquisite bride!
Totally love the colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses. Aparently it’s called watermelon and definitely makes heads turn!
This must be my favourite of the day!
Whatever it was that she whispered in his ear – it put quite the sparkle in his eyes and gives us a glimpse of this strong bond they have with each other!
