🌞 Acing landscapes in Reala 🌳

My family and I love hiking. In winter we don‘t always get started at the crack of dawn, because our winters can get cold! This may come as a surprise, since this is Africa, but we can get some really cold days, cold as in like single digit cold (it even goes below zero at night)! Correct!

And yes, officially we are in spring now but thanks to global warming we regressed into winter last weekend. So we decided on a midday hike when the sun was at its highest. Great for comfort, bad for photos. So I thought.

But then I dialled in a #RealaAce variant into my #X100VI and everything was peachy after that! Nice colour, good detail in the shadows and highlights - pretty photos all around ❤️

Don you do CrossFit? No? Well, me neither actually. But I was challenged to join in on a session recently after a photo shoot at a #CrossFit gym. The outcome? Eish… now you’re getting personal 😂. Let’s just say I really enjoyed taking photographs there 🤭

I think Spring has become my most favourite season. Longer days, warmer weather, the smell of jasmine and yesterday-today-and-tomorrow in the air - all of it contributes to inject new energy into body and soul. It is such a special time.

So today we celebrate Spring Day with a walk through the dusty, burnt fields of @DanielsRustGameFarm. However dreary it may seem, Spring colours are starting to sneak in here and there.

I love experimenting with sunbursts and how sun flares affect subjects. In this shot, the rim light created by putting the subject between the camera and the sun makes it pop and reveals the hairy stem and leaves thanks to the dark background behind the plant.

The look of this #SOOC image created with my #X100VI is rounded off with the #KodakGold200v3 film simulation recipe by @FujiXWeekly

I enjoy this film simulation a lot. It’s so versatile and a great choice for many genres, including landscape photography.

Right now it’s only available on the #GFX100II #X100VI and the new #XT50 but if you have an #XT5 #XH2 #XH2s or an #XS20 you can start counting the days because, according to Victor Ha, the Vice President of Electronic Imaging and Optical Devices at FUJIFILM North America, Reala Ace is finally coming to your camera before the end of June with the next firmware update 🤩

I’m excited to get to dial my #EasyRealaAce and others recipes based on this film simulation into my X-T5 💃📸
