These are some shots from last weekend in
#FujicolorReala100 #SOOC out of my #XT5 + #XF30mm (except for photo 7)

I was actually prepared for an overcast day with intermittent showers which is why I chose Fujicolor Reala 100 but the clouds opened up and made way for blue skies. Great to experiment with this recipe in various conditions.

👉 the rondavel in photo 1 reminded me of my first visits to South Africa and first stay “in the bush” many, many moons ago when I stayed at @thornybush.safari and accommodation was the rondavel in photo 7 (which is a scan of the original photo taken on film way back when). The looks in these two photos are very different when compared side by side but the photo from last weekend still triggered that memory and made me go look for the “original”. It was a much better image in my head then in real life 🤣 but I still appreciate the exercise and the trip down memory lane 😎

I’ve had a lucky accident on the weekend.

After I got back from Sunday’s outing with good friends I printed some of my photos on the #instax #LinkWIDE - in the name of “Photos Deserve To Be Printed” and realised that the film cartridge I was printing from had been exposed to light after it had been opened accidentally. I knew this meant that the top most sheets of film were not going to develop the way that I had intended them to look.

What I didn’t anticipate was that the light leaks that became visible in the photo would actually enhance the images and created prints that I enjoy even more than the original images.

If it ever happens to you that you accidentally expose your instax film to light - don’t worry too much and definitely DON’T throw it away. Just use it and look forward to the creative look your prints will get. It’s actually a lot of fun!

I shot a couple of frames in #MysteryChrome again today and I really like these results. It’s a pretty contrasty recipe but in these images I think it works.
